The Misfit Society Head Quarters sat in a remote facility 50 miles away from Galin City. Inside Rufus had finished briefing everyone.
“So I was right,” said Ross finally after a moment of silence, “we are the team that gets to save the world. The team seems bit overkill. Normally origin team ups sit with a lot less characters. That or there’s going to be a point where a serious amount of us are indisposed.”
“This isn’t funny.” Mathew snapped.
“We are going to be great friends,” chuckled Ross, “and what is life without a little sarcasm.
“Dad,” Kathleen groaned.
A rift opened up and hector stepped out. Several other portals opened up around the world and Zen Soldiers stepped out. He glowed gold and walked up to the facility. He was met by guards. Hector held up a hand and they were ripped to pieces across several realities.
In the Archipelago arena, Tribute was jumping from tree to tree when parts of the bodies appeared in the cornucopia.
“What the hell,” he said looking around. There was a bright flash and he turned around. “And who are you,” he said to the stranger. “Are you the cause of this?”
“A few things I should address. The first being my name is Bolton Shalon, the Cosmic Shifter. Secondly I don’t know where I am. I randomly jumped from Border Realitis. Thirdly I have no clue what happened. It wasn’t my doing,” said Bolton as more pieces shifted in.
“Wait, what are you again?”
Over on earth hector walked through the building to where everyone was gathered. An alarm went off.
“Rufus,” asked Son, “What is that?”
“It’s the proximity alert,” Rufus replied. They started to run over when Hector walked through the walls. “Hector,” Rufus paused. “It’s been years. How are you? Why is the alarm going off and how did you walk through the walls.”
“Hector,” Ashley said recalling her time in the arena.
“There’s a lot about me you don’t know,” Hector said.
“Get away from him,” Ashley said gathering fire.
“Ashley what the hell,” said Son, “He’s our friend.”
“He was abducted by the Matron 10 years ago.”
“I am the Zen Shifter.”
“Christie ,” Mathew said quietly. “I’m shifting you out. I need you to start pulling people out. I’ll help inside here.”
Carrie ran out of the security room as Christie glowed purple and disappeared.
“Rufus he killed our men on the way in.” she called out.
Kathleen disappeared followed by Jason and Ashley.
“Hector what the hell,” Son said before disappearing.
“I came here to do the bidding of my master the Matron of Reality.” Hector announced.
The building began to shake as hector raised his hands in the air Mathew glowed purple and blasted shifter energy on the floor trying to stabilize the building. Everyone but Ross, Rufus, Astrid, Elania, Mathew and Hector were all outside when the building glowed gold and disappeared.
“Mathew,” called out Christie .
“Daddy,” said Kathleen.
“Madams,” said Jason.
Inside Mathew was trying to shift everyone around him to keep them together. Pieces of Drakthar shifted in and other parts of the building were shifted in and out of reality. The team landed in what looked like the hanger of the Misfit Society, or at least what was left of it.
“Jesus I know what she did,” said Rufus.
“I assume you meant the Matron,” said Mathew standing up.
“Oh and tell us what plot point do we have to thank for in this?” Ross questioned.
“Do you ever shut up?” Mathew said looking at him.
“Not really,” Ross shrugged, “I like to see it as my gift to the world and among the team up to still interact with the audience.”
“Would you two stop bickering,” snapped Elania.
“What did she do?” Astrid asked walking up to Rufus.
“Parts of here I recognize from my home world.” Rufus started. “One could say it was it that started all of this. I’m not originally from earth. I came here with the first misfits in October of 1988. Before my time with them, I was on a planet in a different reality called Drakthar. We were harnessing something called the Zen particle. What we didn’t know is that the planet was phasing in and out of our reality. My team had some idea and was researching that when my son was hit and I ended up on a different earth in a different reality where I met everyone. Drakthar must have finally died and the Matron seems to have found a way to harness the pieces from the realities and now channels it through people like Hector.”
“So what do we do?” asked Mathew.
“I don’t know. We need to find a way home and the only way there seems to be through Hector.”
Back on earth Carrie had gathered everyone together.
“Okay listen up,” she said, “I’m not used to leading, but I have an idea. There’s a research facility 100 miles south of here. From there we can access the satellites and try to sort this out. Does everyone agree?” Everyone nodded. “Good, I sent a ping to one of our gliders and it should be here soon.”
At the Point of Reality, the Matron patiently watched the events pan out. General Chain walked up to her.
“Things seem to go according to plan. The unknown pieces are those still on earth and not in Hector’s prison, but may still seem to work out.” The matron stated ominously
“Do you want me to handle them?” General Chain asked.
“Not yet,” responded the Matron. “Let the pawns do their work first and we will see beyond that."
The glider arrived at the research facility. Inside Carrie ran scans with the satellites to try and pin point where on earth the rest of the team could’ve landed.
“What do we have?” Ashley asked.
“To be perfectly honest, I don’t know.” Carrie said in the worried tone. “They seem to be gone. Every scan that I’ve run shows that they are no longer here.”
The team at Hectors prison made it through the hanger only to be in what looked like a battlefield that they couldn’t get out of. Parts of it looked like the headquarters but a lot of it was rubble from Drakthar that was scattered everywhere. There was a flash and they ended up in a different part of the building. After another, they were back in the hanger.
“Hector is in charge of everything in here,” said Rufus. “I do not quite understand his reasoning behind it.” There was another flash and several soldiers appeared. “And that may be the reason.”
