Common Misfits Issue 2

10 years ago earth time

Drakthar had been destroyed some time ago. Recently Calvin from the Point of Reality destroyed the Origin Alpha and went back to earth with the First Misfits back in 1988 to kill George O’Hare. Then the Matron of Reality sensed it. Fereneses had died. Suddenly the portal to Border Realitis exploded and her Chain Guard all disappeared. General Chain came running into the room.

“What the hell just happened,” barked the Matron.

“Calvin and Cosmic Shift found a way to glitch into here and kill all of the chain guard.” General Chain explained. “Cosmic Shift is gone.”

“So you mean to tell me, my main source of consolidating power is gone as well as my Chain Guard!”

“Yes Matron that’s exactly it.”

“This is a major setback general, but my freedom is going to afford us a few things. We need to make a stop at the Archipelago Arena. There’s someone I need going forward.”

Arthur, Tribute, and Hector were walking near the cornucopia of the arena when a portal opened. Out of it came the Matron. She sent out several waves that knocked everyone over and started the forest on fire. Everyone was covered in ash. She picked up Hector and disappeared just as Ashley arrived.

Hector woke in a chair at the Point of Reality with the Matron standing in front of him holding a glowing orb.

“Hello Hector,” she said.

“You must be the Matron I’ve heard so much about.” Hector said with a grin. “I hear you’re a real piece of work. Though I have to admit; I didn’t think I’d meet you in person.”

“I brought you here to either willingly or forcefully bring you into my war. Do you accept or do I have to make you.”

“You can fuck off. Is that a good enough answer?”

“Fine I hoped that was going to be your answer, but I thought you’d take the fun out of it by automatically accepting it.” She held the orb in front of Hector and it forced itself into his body. The Matron held her hands up to his head. Sparks began to strike him as she penetrated his mind. Hector cried out in pain for half an hour. The matron let go. “Welcome Hector, the Zen Shifter.”

“What do you ask of me Matron?” asked Hector; his mind now changed.

“You and I are now going to work together throughout the realities to gather parts of Drakthar and the Zen particle. We are going to make my army of Zen Soldiers.”

Current day

Mathew was enjoying a candle lit dinner with Christie at their apartment in Westbrook when the device Rufus gave him went off. He ignored it. Everything was whooshed in the air as Elania and Astrid arrived and unmerged.

“Mathew Thomson we need you to come with us.” Elania ordered.

“Do you fucking mind or even knock? You two single handedly ruined my dinner with my fiancé.” Mathew said pissed off

“It’s safe to say the fate of the world is in danger.”

“The world is always going to have something wrong with it.”

“Mathew,” said Christie. “Rufus wouldn’t have sent them if it wasn’t urgent.”

“Yes dear but dinner,” Mathew said in protest.

“We can rain check on this later. Let’s hear him out, and bring me with you.”

“Fine,” Mathew said as him and Christie changed. They glowed purple and disappeared.

Ross and Ashley had just finished upgrading the lair at the country club. They met with Janet at the Kelsa Mansion.

“So let me get this straight,” said Janet setting down her cup of tea. “You’re from the dark ages?”

“Yes that’s true,” replied Ross.

“Wow that makes you really old,” Janet said in a tone that was wonder with a hint of sarcasm.

“Really Janet,” Ashley groaned.

There was a flash and Mathew along with Astrid appeared.

“Greetings I’m Mathew,” he said

“Hot damn, you’re Shifter!” Ross exclaimed, “Well the narrator finally made it to the team up”

“I’m sorry what?” Astrid asked.

“I’m in.” Ross said

“We haven’t even explained the problem.” Mathew said

“The world is in sudden danger and it’s going to take a team of whatever to save it. This happens all the time in movies and comic books. You would think the audience would be slightly sick of this yet they are reading this book.”

“I really do not understand this,” said a confused Astrid.

“It’s a long story. Is he right?” Ashley asked.

“Besides what sounded like sarcasm and giddiness, yes he is.” Mathew responded.

“I guess I’m in too.”

“What do I tell mom and dad?” Janet asked pouting. “And of course with you having powers you get to have all the fun.”

“I don’t know. Tell them I’m out and will return when I can.”

“It’ll still worry mom.”

“We have to go Janet.”

“I know. I’ll try to make up a better excuse than the one you just gave. Take care of yourself Ash.”

“I intend to.”

The four glowed purple and disappeared.

They reappeared with everyone gathered at the Misfit Society Head Quarters.

“Daddy,” called out Kathleen running over.

“Hey Katie,” Ross said catching his daughter in a hug.

“Greetings everyone,” Rufus called out. “Most of you know me; I’m Rufus.  “There is a lot to go over so let’s get started.”
